A group of individuals (some who live in Oakland, others not) have established an event that has drawn 5,900 signups on Its Facebook Page. It's called "Hands Across Lake Merritt Oakland Donald Trump Protest and its today at 3 PM. The idea is to have a peaceful anti-Donald Trump President-Elect protest. Come to the Columns at El Embarcadero between Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Avenue - get there at 2:15 PM for good measure. That way you can find out what is going on and then walk to a standing point area early. That said, there will be check point areas at various places around the Lake. See ya!
